When Sarah asked her health coach, Bethany Wood, to be on this episode, she had no idea that it would result in an agreement to go on a social media cleanse. But that’s exactly what happened.
And now…Sarah is questioning her decision to ever start a podcast. One week with NO social media?
But there’s a reason Bethany challenged Sarah to go dark on social media for a week (it all started after watching the “Nosedive” episode of Black Mirror). And now, Sarah wants YOU to join her on this cleanse. Are you in? Here are the rules:
For the week after this episode airs (May 1 - May 7), commit to no Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat or any other social media. You can still email, text, listen to podcasts and use the internet in general.
But we recommend that you either delete the social media apps from your phone for the week, or just do whatever you can to make the apps less accessible and tempting. Also, turn off all social media notifications and alerts on your phone, iPad or watch so they don’t distract you or make you tempted to check them.
You can use the hashtag #sonderlustcleanse when you post your last social media post before going dark, and when the cleanse is done, Sarah and Bethany would love to hear about your experience and what you got out of it.
This is going to be fun! (At least that’s what Sarah keeps telling herself…)
